TAKE CARE GOOD NIGHT trailer launched

Theatrical Trailer of much awaited Marathi film ’Take Care Good Night’, was launched in Mumbai on Friday  in the presence of Actor Sachin  Khedekar, Mahesh Manjrekar, Iravati Harshe, Aadinath Kothare and Parna Pethe. Directed by Girish Jayant Joshi and producer Himanshu Patil and Mahesh Manjrekar with music by Narendra Bhide,  ‘Take Care Good Night’, a new Marathi film presented by Everest Entertainment along with S.P. Entertainment Pvt. Ltd is set for release across the state of Maharashtra   on August 31, 2018.

Movie theme basically consists of a city family fighting a cyber criminal who is threatening its stability and pride. There are problems though in that a technologically handicapped father has to learn to overcome his fear of changing technology while the mother needs to revisit her long-forgotten counselling skills  even as the daughter is compelled to open a channel of communication with her parents. All the answers are revealed in the story that examines the personal and social facets of a tech-driven lifestyle.

Writer Girish Joshi says the idea began with a real incident that happened with a relative in his early fifties. After a sojourn abroad, he came back only to find that a few hundred thousand rupees had been deducted online from his credit card. “Totally distraught, he called me for help. I took him to the cyber crime cell to file a complaint. In the course of our conversation with the officer I learnt more about the scam that had affected my uncle, but was shocked at the sheer magnitude of cyber crimes in general all over the world. This got me thinking about the millions of people who were adopting cell-phones, credit cards, internet transactions and the like as a way of life. I was curious to find out that exact chink in the armor because of which they became victims of cyber crime. As a writer, I desperately felt  the need to write about this.”

“Although it started with my relative’s experience, I decide to write something with a larger canvas and perspective. As the characters shaped up, the whole plot of cyber crime seemed to be in fact reaching to the real deeper problem. ‘Overall lack of communication and human connect’ – the theme for a film emerged from this. It was from this point onward that the creative journey became hybrid. As I went on writing, the director in me seemed to shape the scene simultaneously. It set the pace and treatment of the film. By the time I arrived at the final draft , I had decided I would also direct this film. Take Care Good Night thus became my directorial debut.”

A student of Mechanical Engineering, Girish in his third year realised that he had spent more time on stage than in the classroom and had enjoyed theatre competitions more than Theory of Machines. That was the point when he dropped out of college and spent the next few years honing his skills in theatre and worked in fifty odd theatrical productions in various capacities – as writer, director, actor and even set designer and light designer. He took opportunities as they came and at times  created his own as he moved ahead in the theatre and film industry. He taught ‘Screenplay and Structure’ for three years in Media School, Pune. He wrote about 500 episodes of television serials after which he turned to film writing.
