Vivan Bhathena goes platinum

Vivan Bhathena’s most recent metamorphosis is of this dashing dude with platinum pompadour and short sides hair-cut, in casual shorts and vest – a dapper and very ‘now’ look. Yet put him into a business suit and the he slicks back his hair and vavoom he transforms into a staid but very stylish businessman.

Vivan has been changing his looks and his body since his first music video as the chocolate faced college kid in Falguni Pathak’s super hit ‘Maine Payal Hai Chankayi’ to his more recent villainous roles in Dangal, Judwa 2, Hate Story 4 and now as he beefs up for his upcoming role as Hanuman in Kunal Kohli’s adaptation of the epic Ramayana – Ramyug.

Refreshingly unafraid of dramatic changes in his looks Vivan believes he must not just act the part but look it too. He works hard at his characterisation and is undoubtedly an extremely talent actor. Vivan has always searched for roles that challenge and excite him which is why he has always jumped at the opportunity to play the villan. He feels that “the villain has more shades to his character which can be fun to interpret.” Each of the negative roles he has played have been very different be it the urban, suave, devilish rake in Hero or the earthy desi boxer in Dangal or the comic villain In his super-hit Telegu film Raja.

Putting on or losing 10 kilos, going platinum blonde or unruly red, wearing a three piece or going bare chested Vivan uninhibitedly woos the camera. Working hard on the characterisation and the look Vivan makes certain he gives his very best to his roles. The more complex the character, the more he enjoys preparing and playing the role. Which could be the reason Vivan is so excited about playing a positive role, for the first time, in Ramyug and what could be more positive than portraying Lord Hanuman.

Well, all good things come to an end! Literally so! One of the popular comedy shows Partners Trouble Ho Gayi Double on SAB TV is going off air, and it was an emotional experience for actor Vipul Roy, while shooting for the last episode of the show. The show also features comedian Asrani, Johnny Lever and Kiku Sharda. Vipul said, “I play a cop in the show. It was one of the last scenes and I was supposed to be getting a posting elsewhere and when the entire team is giving their final salute, I tell Johnny sir how he has been a phenomenal commissioner and I connected him as a father figure and not as a senior. After that I am looking for Kiku and he is hiding behind the car, crying. After the scene ended, the entire unit started crying and had tears in their eyes. Everyone from the spot boy to the tea guy to the entire crew had tears in their eyes. I was extremely touched and it was an overwhelming moment for all of us.”

Aditya Roy Kapur lets go of his fitness routine for Kalank!

While most stars would spend hours at the gym getting in shape for their films, Aditya Roy Kapur underwent a body transformation of a different kind for Karan Johar’s Kalank.

Aditya, who is undoubtedly one of the fittest actors in the industry, had to lose muscle and sport a leaner physique for the film, keeping it as real as it could get.

Since the young star had bulked up for his previous film, he entirely stopped working out and resumed his regular diet to achieve his naturally lean frame.

Says a source, “Aditya enjoys going to the gym and most of his films in the past required him to sport a muscular physique. However, he had to lose all the muscle weight for Kalank, given that the film is a period drama and his look had to be natural and real ,typical to that particular era. Aditya stopped training in the gym and let go of his diet, eating just about anything to achieve the look”.

Aditya Roy Kapur is currently shooting for the next schedule of Kalank with Alia Bhatt and will soon start prep for Mahesh Bhatt’s Sadak 2.

Produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Murad Khetani and Ashwin Varde, Satellite Shankar is the first Hindi film to be shot across more than 10 states in India. Everyone has been wondering who the leading lady opposite Sooraj would be – since the makers had kept it rather hush-hush. Now, the secret is finally out.

Megha Akash is the one who will be making her Hindi debut opposite Sooraj in Satellite Shankar. Megha is one of the most promising talents in both Tamil and Telugu cinema. She has already made a huge mark in both the industries. Megha had been waiting for the right break in Bollywood and when she got this opportunity, there was no looking back.

Director Irfan Kamal is also extremely happy to have Megha on board. “She is exactly what we were looking for,” he says. “From the time we saw her, we knew she was the one.”

The film is currently being shot in North India.
